Mamalicious Monday

Rhenley lost her first tooth a few weeks ago, and I forgot to post her toothless picture. She was so excited, and brave to lose her tooth. Her tooth was pretty loose, hanging by just one little piece of skin... after a little coaxing, she let me help her pull it out. (I remember only a few times as a child pulling my teeth out by myself. My dad always helped: bite this apple, bite this gummy cherry, "let me look at it") So, the big moment came after dinner, I asked if I could just wiggle the tooth, and she could help me by pushing it out with her tongue. It took just a few seconds, she pushed with her tongue, and I pulled a little, and POP, out it came. She immediately put her tooth in her tooth fairy pillow, and put it by her bed. The next morning, first thing, she checked the box that's in her little pillow, and she had 4 shiny quarters. As a kid, I remember getting 25, maybe 50 cents per tooth and $1.00 for the bigger teeth. My husband blames inflation:) (2 weeks later, her new tooth is poking through the skin, and she is thrilled!)
It's been so fun to be the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus. Many people I know tell their children right off the bat that these holiday figures aren't real, I think that's sad. I loved as a child celebrating holidays, and wasn't the least bit disappointed when I found out it was my parents giving us gifts. I think it makes giving the kids gifts more exciting, and less of the focus is on me as the parent, these figures get the credit, it's not all about me:)

Families Can Be Together Forever!

On March 29th my grandma passed away. Grandma T. has lived with my mom & dad for 17 years. (My mom's mom:) She was around for much of my youth, and young adult years. She battled diabetes, heart problems, and arthritis. (These were just a few of her ailments) She was a fighter, never complained, and always overcame! She was a woman of faith, a believer and doer of the word, and a true inspiration to many.
She was a lady of many talents, many opinions, and lots of love! I will always remember her LOUD cheering at sporting events, playing games late into the night, rootbeer floats, graham crackers w/ milk, sugar free chocolates, her candy dish and cookie jar, her loads of stuffed animals, her unique taste in jewelry, her brightly colored lipstick, and her smell.:)

We love you Grandma T., our lives have been truly blessed. We know you are in heaven, with your family and friends who have gone before you. (How great that reunion must have been.:) We feel much comfort and peace knowing that you're with our Heavenly Father, that you are doing the Lord's work on the other side now, and even greater comfort in knowing that we'll be reunited one day! Thank you for always being there, for caring, and for keeping us in line. We know everything you said and did was out of love.

We love you, and we'll be seeing you:)

Mamalicious Monday

My sister Leslie told me about a great blog called The Gift Closet, a great site for gift ideas, and giveaways. On Mondays they do a bloggy game for moms.
So, for my Mamalicious Monday post, I'm going to blog about, Shrek, Shrek 2, and Shrek 3.:) I enjoy these movies, and recently the twins really like them. I'm not complaining, because there are more annoying movies they could be watching ALL THE TIME. Every morning for the last 2 weeks, instead of watching cartoons on TV, we watch SHREK.
EVERY DAY, for THE LAST 2 WEEKS, SHREK, or SHREK 2, or SHREK 3. They really like SHREK 3 because they love the little ogre babies. I sit occasionally and watch with them, but it's getting a little old now, so I'm trying to find other movies, or cartoons that they'll really like... any suggestions?
Do any other moms have kids that want to watch the same cartoons, or movies EVERY day?:)

Our Trip to Boise

Lucas was on Spring Break from WSU this last week. We decided to go visit Lucas' Grandma Stevens and other relatives that live in the Boise area. (Luke's Dad, and sister, Erikka, came down Friday afternoon)
We arrived late Thursday night, gave hugs to grandma, and went to bed. (The twins didn't want to go back to sleep in their pack-in-plays, so I slept on the floor with them in the living room... let's just say that was a nightmare:( Friday morning we woke up, got ready for the day, and decided to head to the Zoo, and have lunch at a nearby park. (The weather was gorgeous, we had to get out:) (Just to tell you how nice it was, there were girls in tank tops and shorts:) You would've thought people hadn't seen the sun before:)

(This cute little Safari Jeep was very nice for the girls:)
The Boise Zoo was Fabulous! (We liked it better than the Portland Zoo). It was in great shape, well maintained, lots of interesting animals, VERY KID FRIENDLY, and it wasn't so big that you got all tuckered out walking around the entire place.

We all loved the Giraffes, they were so beautiful and graceful to watch. Plus they had a fun Giraffe slide for the kids.

We loved the Prairie Dog Exhibit as well: They have tunnels underneath the prairie dogs, big enough for kids and adults, and little places for you to pop your head up and be "amongst" the dogs. The girls thought that was pretty neat!

This little Meerkat was just chillin', it was a priceless picture, I couldn't resist... he was basking in the sunlite:)

Jodee loved watching the Komoto Dragon, she watched him for a while, it was cool he was so close to the glass. Jodee also loved the penguins, she thought they were so cool, just swimming around in the water, catching fish.

Rhenley loved all the little hands on things as we walked around the zoo, here she is being a Tortoise:) Here was another cute little thing for the kids to do, you looked at the foxes, then got to pose with their BIG ears:)

The Zoo was a blast, we had an enjoyable time together. It was nice that we had ONE day! The next two days weren't so joyous! Jodee & Jayda woke up puking Saturday... they were sick Saturday, Sunday, Monday, (Geeze, they're still not themselves today, Wednesday)
We stayed in Boise til late Sunday afternoon, we got to play games, and eat yummy food with Luke's family, but other than that we didn't do much else. I layed around with the twins, ready with the puke bucket to try to catch the puke before it got all over Grandma's carpet. (We went through lots of blankets and towels:) A BIG THANKS TO GRANDMA FOR LETTING US STAY WITH HER, EAT HER YUMMY FOOD, WATCH HER HALLMARK MOVIES, AND LET LUKE BEAT HER AT "DWINDLE". (Grandma has tons of Hallmark movies, which I love to watch when we visit.:)
So all in all, the trip to Boise was a trip to remember!:)

The Soundtrack to My Life...

This was a silly little note that I did on Facebook, I thought it was Blog-worthy, so I'm making it a post as well. Many of the songs actually fit, there are some that were random, but it was fun. Our Little Ballerina:)

Rhenley went with her cousin Kiley to her "bring a friend day" at her ballet class. Rhenley was a little unsure at first, but by the end she was a natural:)
Such grace and poise:)
Check out that split:)

My baby is "5" years old:(

Rhenley's birthday was on St.Patrick's Day, (the reason for all the green in the previous Chuck E. Cheese post:) My first born turned 5, sniff, sniff:) She is so excited to be 5, she gets to go to Kindergarten in the fall, she has her first loose tooth, and she thinks she's now big enough to get her ears pierced (we'll see about the ear piercing...maybe she'll forget about it for another 2 years:)

This year for Rhen's birthday dinner we had green potatoes, green salad, chicken, and lemon-lime kool-aid. (Yummy!)
(And the treat under the plate before dinner was served, was green gummy frogs, and green nerds:)

Some of Rhenley's favorite gifts: A Big Thanks to Everyone who gave her a gift, she loved everything!

Rhenley's first pets: Chloe & Max the fish, she was thrilled! (She really wanted a puppy, but had to settle for fish:)

Ba-Da-DaDaDaDa... (Where a Kid Can Be a Kid!)

Rhenley wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday. So, last minute we decided to go: Auntie Kyra, Cousins: Brenden & Bronsen, Our Friends, Kristen, Carys, & Jocelynn Moses and of course Rhenley, Jodee, Jayda, and Me (mommy). We had some pizza, used 200 tokens on lots of games, and ended the day with the biggest popsicles ever (courtesy of Chuck E. Cheese's).
Auntie Kyra and Cousin Bronsen "Cutest little Lucky Charm"
"Get those crazy crocs Rhen!" (Rhenley was so good at this game, but the ticket payout wasn't very good:( (She missed just 3 crocs out of 18 bites, and got only 2 tickets.... I complained:)
"This was my best birthday ever!"--Rhenley

My Little Sweeties...

Jodee & Jayda love getting dressed up, having their hair fixed, and posing for pictures:) My friend Kristen watched the girls the other day, and curled their hair, they looked so cute and grown up. They are 2 going on 16:) I'm pretty sure Jodee is telling Jayda what to do, "Smile Jayda":)
