WAFFLES:)

Oh the joys of cooking and trying to take care of the girls too:)

I made a nice breakfast on Sunday, waffles, eggs, bacon, YUM! I always have extra batter, with which I make waffles and put them in ziploc baggies and freeze them for another day. So I was making the extra waffles, getting the girls ready for church, and watching The Butter Cream Gang. I forgot about the waffles... twice:) I quit trying after I burnt the second batch:)


Here's my oops picture, and the very crispy waffles. (I don't think the picture does them justice though. They were super dark brown, and very flaky. (Burning food happens to even the best of chefs:)

Our New Park

We have a new park in Richland, they finished it a few weeks ago. It is so fun for the kids, and pretty close to our house. For those of you who know Richland, it's just below Richland High School, across from the softball fields. We went to the park for the first time last week, and everyone had a blast, even the twins loved going down the big slides. (Jayda went down them several times by herself. On her tummy, feet first, it was so cute:)



If you're ever in Richland, you need to take the kids to this park!

Trip to Spokane

On Friday we took a trip to Spokane. Our initial reason for driving 2 hours with all the kids:), was to go to a very big Yard Sale. We are Yard Sale fanatics, and last weekend in Spokane they had a "Friend to Friend" Yard Sale at the Fair Grounds. I wish I would have taken a picture of all the stuff... trust me when I say... they had a huge barn like structure FULL of children's clothes, shoes, books, puzzles, toys, strollers, walkers, bouncers...and so much more, it was incredible. Although we didn't find some of the things we were hoping to find, we did find some treasures:)

Friday was Brenden's birthday, so we decided to stay in Spokane for the day. (I mean we drove all that way, might as well make the most of it:)


We went down to the waterfront, let the kids ride the Carousel, took some pictures, and had the yummiest "mini doughnuts":)



You can't go to Spokane without going to "The White Elephant". (Kind of an everything store...hunting, fishing stuff for Dad, games, & toys for Mom & the kids.) It's a fun store, we found some very cute baby dolls for the girls.:)


We also ate lunch at good ol' Burger King... they made the best Whopper I've ever had... not kidding, it was so yummy:)

Playground of Dreams

On Thursday we decided to take the kids to Columbia Park's: Playground of Dreams. It's a great playground, for kids of all ages! It was a beautiful day, we had a picnic, and then we played:) Who was there?: Grandma Nea, Auntie Kyra, Cousin Brenden, Rhenley, Jodee, Jayda, Friend Skylar, and Me:)

This swing is so funny for pictures...Rhenley is either really small, or the swing is for a very big kid!:) (I think the swing is for a child with disabilities, so it probably shouldn't be amusing, but it is:)

Down on the Farm

This is the first of our Spring Break with Grandma Nea Posts: (I'll post one a day for the next week:)
My mom works for Jason Lee Elementary, this last week was spring break. We got to spend a lot of time with her, and we did some fun, new things:)

On Wednesday we went to a farm...(Grandma Nea, Auntie Kyra, Cousin Brenden, Rhen, Jodee, Jayda, & I) There is a lady in our ward who's daughter has a farm, and so we decided it would be fun to take the kids to see all the animals. It was definitely an adventure. 3 Horses, 3 Cows, 36 Sheep/lambs, 12 Chickens, 8 Ducks, & 9 Dogs. Rhenley liked the farm experience... she doesn't want to have a farm, but it was fun to visit. She was scared of the dogs, she didn't want the chickens to attack her, (hence the reason for her standing on the big bucket to feed them:) She did like the horses & cows, as long as they didn't get too close:)

Spiritually Fed...

We really had quite the feast this last weekend:) We were definitely spiritually fed. What a great opportunity we had to listen to our new Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. It was a very neat experience to sustain our leaders during the Solemn Assembly, I felt the spirit strongly as each quorum/group sustained The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Tears came to my eyes when we were asked to stand and sustain our leaders. I found it even more uplifting watching conference in the privacy of my home. The spirit of conference definitely filled our home. (I was able to feel the spirit, even watching conference in my jammies:)


The thing that stuck out to me the most this conference was:
"I know better, why don't I do better..." we learn as children to CTR, Choose The Right. Such a simple phrase, with such an eternal effect. Choosing the Right to me now means so much more than it did as a child. It's more than just choosing right from wrong. It's continually choosing those things that will get me back to my heavenly father. Choose The Right: Have Family Home Evening every Monday, say personal & family prayers, read the scriptures, attend my meetings, Go To The Temple, be a good example, share the gospel...Choose The Right!



My favorite talk was from Henry B. Eyring/Saturday AM session, here are a few thoughts from his talk:
*The true and living church is being prepared for the coming of the Savior. The Saints are being perfected, being made ready for the second coming. *Improvements that are being made in the Kingdom: Home/Visiting Teaching, Every Member a Missionary,& Supporting the Needy...How am I doing in improving the kingdom? We have the tools to be ready when the Savior comes again, I know he will come again...will I be ready?

We are so blessed, and I am so grateful to be a member of the only true church on the earth. The church and it's teachings just make sense. We are a happy people. Doing what's right brings happiness, & brings us closer to our father in heaven. I know better, I'm making a commitment to do better.

UandITrade

"Where Families Trade Their Stuff!"

A lot of my time the last few months has been consumed by this new trading site. My sister Leslie got me hooked on this site. It's basically one big yard sale:) At first I wasn't going to join, but after a little persuading by Leslie, I finally did. It's actually been super easy, and fun. The site is all about posting items & trading with people from all over the United States, then they have a forum where moms (and a few dads:) can just chat about whatever! UandITrade has been on the news, and are now taking on "Project Cuddle" (helping needy families:)
The site also has weekly contests, ways for it's members to earn points. (Points=money:)
It's good, clean fun! I've received many nice things...clothes for the girls, movies, and clothes for myself. I've also been able to get rid of a lot of stuff, it's been totally worth my time and money! If any of you moms have stuff to give away, before giving it to The Goodwill, check out UandITrade:)
