A few weeks ago my little brother Keith and his friend Marissa introduced us to a new party game. QUELF! With a random name, random game pieces, and even more random things that you are asked to do throughout the game, QUELF was a big hit! We had a blast playing with Keith and Marissa. The following weekend we played with our friends Kristen & Aaron Moses (man I wish I would have taken pictures that night... it was hysterical)
Here are a few pictures from the first time we played.:)

--Luke had to make a snorkel mask out of kitchen utensils, and wear it the rest of the game... I had to balance a set of keys on my head for a round, Marissa had to put her thumbs in her mouth when she talked, thumbs on shoulders when she didn't, and if you made eye contact with anyone throughout the game you both had to say, "Trippy":)
The game pieces are even funny: Queen Spatula (who rules the land of Quelf... I was Queen Spatula both times we played, and I won both times, she is the best:), The Platypus, Ms. Pickle Feather, Super Ninja Monkey, The Biscuit Farmer, Mr. Lugnut, and this Crazy Bat (can't remember his name:)
Game Description, courtesy of the Amazon.com:)--Quelf is insanity in a box! With this hilariously silly party game, you will have outrageous fun with your family and friends. Quelf will inspire you to use your creativity, wit and sense of humor in ways you've never imagined. As you move around the game board, as one of eight quirky characters, crazy things start to happen. Your friends start talking strangely. Your mom's face is wrapped in toilet paper. Your dad is acting like Dracula. And you are reciting a poem about your armpits. Each game of Quelf is a new journey into wackiness. When the dust settles and someone crawls away the winner, you realize...you've never had this much fun playing a board game in your life!
Ok, I'm not giving away anymore details about the game... you MUST check it out, it is so fun... you will laugh so hard you'll cry. And if you don't have fun playing this game... something is seriously wrong with you:)

Camping @ Emigrant Springs
It's becoming a yearly tradition to go camping at Emigrant Springs with Lucas' family. We love camping, especially Emigrant Springs kind of camping... cute little cabins that sleep 5 people, they have electricity and heat:)
The girls loved sleeping on the bunk bed in the cabin:)

We had lots of fun around the campfire, singing songs, playing instruments, and Kazooing. The kazoos were a real hoot... basic black combs, with wax paper over them, it makes a great kazoo sound... it was so fun for everyone. (I wish I would have taken a picture of the kazoos, I got too involved:)
Roasting Mallows is always a favorite camping activity... we love the strawberry mallows!:)

The weather was so beautiful, we did some hiking around the trails, the girls were troopers, we walked pretty far. Jodee got tired, so I carried her on my back for a little bit, she thought that was pretty great:) There are some nice trails, they have a covered wagon, wood oxen, and some historical site markings. (I believe from the Oregon Trail:)

(Sweet little Jodee loved wearing her cousin's hat:)
We always have so much fun when we get together, we look forward to next year:) Almost everyone came this year, Mom, Dad, Erikka, Megan and her 3 boys (Megan's hubby, Robbie had to work, he was missed:(, Kory, Abby and their 3 kiddos.
We hope Tessa, Darren & Kloee can come next year.

Jayda, Uncle Darren, and "The Chairs":)
While at Boulder Cave, Jayda are her Uncle Darren got into a little fight over "the chairs". We brought 3 plastic chairs for the girls to sit on. Jayda was very possessive of them, and didn't want anyone touching them. She was saving them for her and her sisters. Darren started teasing her about it...
I got some classic pictures of the chair fight...:)
-- Jayda thought if she arranged the chairs like this, that Uncle Darren couldn't get them or sit in them...
-- She then unstacked them to sit on them...
--Darren took advantage of the unstacking, and ran to sit on them... Jayda's response was priceless... I'm so glad I got it on camera:)
The fight ended with a hug, and the chairs were saved for the little girls.:)

Labor Day @ Boulder Cave
We spent Labor Day with Luke's family at Boulder Cave. We had a lot of fun hiking around the mountains, the waterfull, and down into the cave. The girls did pretty well, considering the hike we had to make... Jayda did scream all the way down the mountain, but a good time was had by all:)
--Grandpa & Grandma with the grandkids:)
--Jayda with her cousin Zakry, so cute:)
The girls loved climbing on the fallen trees, rocks, and behind the waterfall. They were little troopers:)

Rhen's First Day of School...
Our little girl started school on September 3rd, she was so excited to start Kindergarten. She had her outfit picked out the night before, she couldn't hardly sleep she was so excited.
Luke's family had a tradition growing up, every year they would take a picture holding up, on their fingers, the grade they were going into. This is Rhenley, holding up a "K" for Kindergarten:)
Rhenley is attending the same elementary school that I did when I was a child. (It is completely different now, but it still has the same name, and is in the same location:)
--Anxiously waiting in line...
I got to go to the first day of school with Rhen, for one hour the parents did a little activity, and had a meeting with the teacher while the kids played outside.
The teacher read a very cute story called, "The Kissing Hand" and then the kids did an art project... I didn't cry or get emotional until the teacher read the story:) My little girl is all grown up... sniff, sniff. (I did fine the rest of the day though, I was very proud of my little girl:)
Rhen is so excited to have Ms. Perkins, one of the first things the class did after the parents left was sing and dance, Rhenley loves to sing and dance.
Time truly does fly. I often wonder if I've taught her enough, if she can hold her own with "mean" kids, if she truly knows what's right. Our Rhenley is one of the sweetest girls I know, she is social, smart, and funny. I hope her passion for learning never changes, she is like a little sponge, and I love that about her:)

Crestview Ward Luau

My ward has had their annual Luau for probably 15 years. It is so much fun to dress up hawaiian, listen to hawaiian music, watch the hula dancers, eat hawaiian food. (I don't usually like the "hawaiian" food, this year I did try some of the coconut dessert, and it was pretty good:)
These were the cutest girls at the Luau:) (I realize I'm a little bias, but they're so stinkin' cute:)
--The Mormon Mob (most of the ward came to the Luau:)
-- Little Hula girls, Kiley, Jocelynn, and Rhen (the little boy thought they were so cute too:)
(Lucas' mom, Hula Hoop Queen:)
The King of The Hula Hoop, my hubby, Lucas Stevens:)

Our Camping Adventure @ La Wis Wis
Mid August, we took this...
And went here...
This is who went..
Our Family &
Our friends the Moses'
This is what we did...
Collected Rocks, and ate licorice...
Killed bees... this bee was killed by Kristen, aka, The Bee Slayer:)

-- Popped popcorn and roasted mallows (Just a side note, if anyone hasn't had strawberry marshmallow smores, man you're missing out:) YUMMY!
La Wis Wis is a really nice campground, the girls had so much fun exploring nature, collecting leaves, rocks, and climbing on logs.

-- The National Forest had some of the coolest trees:)
The best part of the camping trip for me, well, besides being able to go with our friends:) Was that Kristen and I didn't have to cook or clean up after cooking for 2 whole days:) Our sweet hubby's did all the cooking and the cleaning, it was THE BEST!:)
We love being in nature, and we love our friends, good times were had by all:)
-- My smokin' hot hubby trying to be cool:) (He calls this pose, "Blue Steel":)
--Good times by the river, taking pictures and laughing about something really funny:)
--This picture of Kristen is classic... Blogworthy:) I love this girl, she is such a great friend, we have so much fun together:)
--Kristen's hubby Aaron, relaxing after fixing, then eating a very yummy breakfast...Aaron's recipes were delicious, but I gained probably 50lbs in just two days... cheesy potatoes, bacon, sausage, cheesy eggs, pancakes, french toast, chicken, corn, dutch oven peach cobbler, and cherry/chocolate cobbler... I'm getting fat just talking about all the yummy food:)
We loved camping, and will definitely go again soon. We were a little spoiled with the pop up tent trailer, Luke's parents own it, but it's a family rig, so we get to take it whenever:)
